Jikan Ga Arimasu

I longed for the day when people would start saying: "Jikan ga arimasu". It is Japanese for there is time. The world never rests and the time never stops ticking. People now are used to going with the fast pace. Our gears are always set to its maximum speed and brakes are rarely used. I think it would be great when we could find a little time off each day and just stop and reflect. Pray and thank God maybe or simply just smile and inhale the beauty around us. I thank the Lord for this day that I get the chance again to wind off and sit and think by myself rather hustling everywhere but always going nowhere. So cheers to all who have their time paused and rewind to happy memories and joyful events filled with glee and laughter. For even the Lord says : Be still, and know that I am God". - Psalm 46:10

The Still Small Voice.

A New Year Marathon

The bridge connecting 2012 to 2013 has been a fast-paced, action-packed, drama-filled, mind-blown experience for me. It had been like a mega roller coaster ride for me from here to there. Thinking back now, my life did get turned upside, rightside-up down. One minute I was still living my old life, the next, everything suddenly changed. The Lord does answers our pleading prayers even if it happened in ways we didn't expect. Now, I am much much happier with lots of time in my hands rather than earning money with tears and stress. Yes, you got it! I finally quit my job. I was never happy since the first few days of work. Getting that job was a mistake. I can finally breathe and eat TIKOY! Happy Chinese New Year to all! Soon, Yuen Xiao Jue will come and I will be eating yummy Yuen Xiao dumplings!!!

In celebration of Chinese New Year, we served and ate Tikoys, 甜粿 (Sweet Candy) in Chinese, to guests and families. It symbolizes unity, harmony and sweetness for the whole year to come. This year, the Chinese New Year landed yesterday on Feb. 10, 2013, and I had a blast of time. I won't be going over the details but my New Year adventure started as early as Feb. 1 and happily ended last night, though the memories will continue to live on. Yesterday's mission number one was to go to Tagaytay Highlands China Palace to share our music and merriment. It required early rising and early departure, not to mention we stayed up late on New Year's Eve and waited for the countdown and thus my escapade begun. Sleepy eyes, tired limbs and all, our meeting place was at LRT 1 Edsa Station. From there we traveled for at least for 2 and a half hours. By the time we got there, it seemed like the air and its atmosphere had somewhat refreshed and awaken us. Cool breeze in the middle of a hot sun greeted us with chilling warmth. I can't get enough of the view and the food! The food that was served to us was big! Butter soup with corn for appetizer and a big plate of pork chops and vegetable side dish for the main course. We were filled to the brim. Around 2:30 pm, we were anything but ready to say goodbye to our new found haven, but sadly, time won't allow us. So 15 minutes later before 3, we were all inside the car once again and the engines rolled us off. It was already around 5 o' clock when I arrived at my destination number two, the Shangri-La mall. It was really not part of the mission as I leisurely strolled the insides of the mall but then, the lovely chime-like tunes of the Gu Zheng, 古箏 (Chinese Zither or Harp) lured me to the ground floor where there were Chinese paintings exhibitions and arts and crafts for people to see. I went in and lingered, hoping that I can get to try some of the Chinese artworks too but all without luck. Then a lady suddenly asked me what kind of instrument was I keeping strapped to my back. When she knew, she immediately requested me to perform. So there I was, a little shaky and full of excitement, played a Chinese song entitled: "The Moon Represents My Heart" by Teresa Teng. It was really great and at the same time, I felt fuzzy and warm all over, yes, that was pure happiness. Ok! Time for Mission number 3, to the Shangri-La Hotel. There, I was to exhibit some Chinese Calligraphy writings for the guests at the Summer Palace that evening. It includes writing their Chinese names on Calligraphy papers and finishing it off with some Shu Fa or Chinese painting. Well, that's all folks! Happy Chinese New Year again and Kong Hei Fat Choy! :D
